Can someone please recommend a good manufacturer of hobby grade construction vehicles? I usually go Traxxas for my nitro buggy stuff, but it’s apparent my son would really enjoy a more capable rc truck than he currently has. My view upward from the tree fort for your time.

We talking like dump trucks?

Might look at Tamiya, they tend to do the super accurate stuff.

The questions I would ask first are what does your son have now, what type of capability are your son/you looking for, and gas/nitro or electric?

I believe TRAXXAS and HPI are the big names in hobby grade currently, as well as Tamiya and Kyosho to a lesser extent.

Dump trucks, excavators, bulldozers, etc. the kid loves trucks :-)

Electric, low speed, non-tethered for a 5 1/2 year old, not overly fragile or complex, and compatible with the terrain in the back 40:

Essentially I’m looking to upgrade his capabilities but not his speed. I’m even considering hobby grade rock crawlers.

I wish. We live inland with the rest of the poors that can’t afford ocean. It's a common field-y area in the neighborhood. Lots of blackberries :-)

Woah. And that’s why i’m home today. I screwed up my back yesterday, and that’s the muscle relaxant talking/thinking. Earth to space cadet...

Yes, it’s a beech tree. We’re lucky enough to have three really sound specimens in the back yard.
